For several hundred years, Appenzeller's Requiem Mass has lain dormant, awaiting modern transcription and interpretation. Our director, Holly Druckman, has painstakingly translated from the original notation, overlaid the text, and transposed into keys that work well for a mixed choir. Benedictus Appenzeller was part of the Franco-Flemish school of the Renaissance, and the movements of this mass feature the rich texture typical of that era.
